Outdoor Kitchen Design Using Stainless Steel Cabinetry

Selecting outdoor kitchen cabinetry and appliances that meet a client’s needs and budget and that address climate concerns can be challenging. This course explores the design of safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor kitchen and living areas and presents the various types of cabinetry available, with a focus on stainless steel as a positive alternative for cabinetry. Included is a synopsis of outdoor kitchen design principles and considerations.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Discuss stainless steel cabinetry as a durable, versatile, sustainable, and timeless option for outdoor kitchens and describe the finishes, cabinets types, and door styles available.
- Design an outdoor space that enhances occupant lifestyle and fosters social interaction, and choose the appropriate outdoor appliances and components based on function, performance, budget, space, materials, and client needs.
- Explain the design issues, such as kitchen layout, grill location, lighting, and slip-resistant surfaces, that must be considered before starting an outdoor kitchen building project to ensure the final space is safe and functional.
- Incorporate heating/cooling and shelter as functional elements that address occupant comfort and protection and decorative elements that enhance the outdoor kitchen design and overall user experience.
Wood Flooring Saw Cuts: Appearance & Performance Attributes

Today’s architects and designers have hundreds of choices when it comes to architectural glass for interior and exterior applications. Architects, designers and owners are continually looking for ways to make their buildings stand out and be distinct. Architectural decorative glass continues to lead the way in architectural design.
Glass Entrances and facades, glass floors and ceilings, frameless glass walls, glass balustrades for staircases, glass entrances, glass telephone kiosks and bus shelters, shower doors, partitions in sports arenas – all these are examples of areas where architectural decorative glass can play a major role without sacrificing performance.
